Greyt Greys

Congratulations you have found the Greyt Greys site

Why Greys make the best pets

Greys are intelligent, affectionate, sensitive and gentle.
They have short fur and come in up to 30 colours. As they do not have undercoats they are less likely to trigger allergies than other breeds. They also don't tend to shed like other dogs.

Greyhounds are very lean and slim. Their lack of padding and their short fur means that they need soft bedding to prevent them getting sores. It also means that they don't like extremes of temperature (hot or cold). Caff 10 make the coolest coats for Greys to keep them warm. Mayhounds sell 'cool coats' to keep them comfortable in summer. If you drop by the adoption agencies page you can find the link to them.

They are also known as Speed noodles, and horse noodles. They can run at a top speed of 72km/h. Don't let that fool you though - they are coach potatoes who sleep up to 18 and hours a day. They make great apartment pets as long as they are allowed regular access to the outside for walks and the ocassional Zoomie.
They can be trained to be cat friendly as long as they do not have a highprey drive. The adoption agencies assess whether the Grey will be able to live with a family who also have cats. The best adoption agencies match the family to the dog rather than the other way around. That means that the agency knows that the dog is going a family that will best suit his quirkiness.

An odd little Grey quirk is that they sleep with their eyes open, and when they feel safe and comfortable will roach. Roaching is where they sleep on their backs with their legs in the air.
